At Nighthawk Entertainment, we hope to use the new show, Zootopia, to highlight different zoos around the country. Zootopia will include a format that showcases the particular zoo’s entertainment value, their unique contribution to the community and the exhibits they are most proud of. Zootopia host and travel guide, Jeff Ewelt will use his zoo and animal experience to highlight these topics and introduce his audience to the real stars, the animals. The show will focus on the zoo as a whole rather than one particular aspect. State of the art exhibits, animal interaction and even rides are just a sampling of what Zootopia highlights.
Zootopia will allow future zoo patrons to get a feel of what it is they can expect at their next zoo visit. The show will give your network the opportunity to showcase what zoos do, not only for their guests, but also for their local communities, communities around the world and of course, for the animals themselves. Families will learn some inside tips on how to dress, what‘s good to eat and how far they may be walking.
The show is shot and edited in 1080i high definition format, allowing for scaling to any broadcast requirement. The current list of zoos for season one may change depending on the time frame of the show. If the show is a mid season pick-up, we may alter the list to include several more southern zoos, rather than fighting the northern winter weather. Several northern zoo’s do however offer great indoor exhibitory. If the show is a summer replacement, the current list will go unaltered.
The zoos highlighted will all be members of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, which includes, at last count, 212 Zoological Parks. Future seasons of Zootopia will also highlight zoos abroad. The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria currently includes 300 institutions.
